WHAT ARE MICROGREENS?

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR
MICROGREENS You may harvest your live microgreens as needed for up to 3 days. After this time we recommend you then cut what's left and store them in the fridge. The cut Microgreens should last up to 10 days if stored properly, failing to do so can result in wilted, slimy greens and who wants that? LIVE MICROGREENS - Fresh for about 3 Days Place your growing tray on a solid shallow dish near a bright window. Add 1/4 c of water per tray to the dish your greens are sitting in, this is called bottom watering and ensures the leaves on the greens stay dry. do this once or twice a day. Harvest as needed. After 3 days cut remaining microgreens and store in fridge, this ensures the ultimate flavour and texture is preserved. CUT MICROGREENS - Fresh for up to 10 Days Rinse and thoroughly dry your cut microgreens. I prefer to cut and store them dry, rinsing them before use. Excess moisture will cause them to go slimy (Yuck). Store your microgreens in a non-porous container lined with a paper towel with a paper towel on top to absorb the excess moisture. Place a lid on top and you're good to go. Enjoy!!! |
